REVIAN only uses precision LEDs, not lasers like iRestore, that have never before been used in a hair growth device for a couple reasons:
We use them primarily because we can dial in the precise nanometer of wavelength that we want to actually trigger the mechanisms of action in the cells. Our independent research and clinical trial has shown our combination of 620 and 660 activates more biological changes in the cells to renew their vitality. Laser products use a more generic red wavelength ranging around 660 nm that is not as effective by itself.
The second reason is the viewing angle that the light is distributed from an LED. LEDs put off a much wider angle of light, bathing the scalp in overlapping cones of light. Laser products are much more tightly focused and only hit spots on your scalp. They have to keep producing different products with more and more lasers just to get the better coverage we can offer with REVIAN.
Third, the LEDs are light and thin. This allows our cap to be much more flexible, lightweight and moves our light sources further away from the scalp to provide even more coverage. We have also proven that our LED light penetrates the skin fully to the needed levels to affect the cells with more complete coverage.
We have not seen any clinical data published for the latest iRestore professional model that has any new benefits to patients with the exception of trying to increase their scalp coverage. Adding more lasers just increases the cost and weight of their unit without providing the coverage we already have achieved.
