Periodically there are updates pushed out for iOS and Android, by device manufacturers (e.g. Samsung), and mobile service providers (e.g. Verizon). Typically REVIAN engineers are aware of these updates in advance but not always. Sometimes these updates present technical issues that prevent connection between the REVIAN app and cap.
There is a known issue where Samsung updates have prevented connection via Bluetooth. REVIAN users have resolved this issue by clearing the Bluetooth memory on their devices. Here are the steps to do this:
- Swipe the REVIAN App closed
- Go to your mobile device's Settings > Apps
- Tap the 3 dots in the upper right
- Tap Show system apps
- Scroll down to Bluetooth. Tap Bluetooth
- Tap Storage
- Tap Clear Data
- Tap OK
- Open the REVIAN App. The user should be prompted to allow the REVIAN App to turn on Bluetooth. Select Allow
If clearing your device's Bluetooth memory is unsuccessful you can try to forcing Bluetooth to stop by following these steps:
- Swipe the REVIAN App closed
- Go to Settings
- Scroll down to Apps
- In the top right hand corner are three vertical dots. Tap the 3 vertical dots
- Tap Show system Apps
- Scroll down to Bluetooth
- At the bottom, you should see an icon that says Force stop. Tap Force Stop
- Tap OK.
- Open the REVIAN App back up and login
- Attempt to pair the App and Cap by placing your finger over the forehead sensor and then tapping the yellow BT connect icon in the center of the treatment screen. This will be a little more reliable than placing it on your head.
